How to access Google Classroom at home: (There are several options! If one doesn't work, try another.)
On any browser
1. In the URL Search window, type classroom.google.com and press enter. Or, click on the Google Classroom logo below.
2. If another person in the household has a Google account (such as a gmail account), Classroom will "default" to that account. Don't try to use the other person's account! It won't work! Google Classroom requires the student's MBUSD account.
3. Click the downward pointing arrow to the right of the parent/sibling's Google account.
4. A screen with "Choose Account" will pop up with all of the Google Accounts associated with the computer.
5. Go to the bottom and click "Use Another Account."
6. On the new screen enter the student's MBUSD Google Apps username ([email protected]) and password. Usernames and passwords are written in students' agendas.
7. Once the student's account is associated with the computer, his/her account will appear in the upper right corner of any Google page (Google search, Google News, Google Doc, etc.) if you click the colored letter in the circle in the upper right corner of the Google page.
Chrome Browser - Incognito
1. Open Chrome browser.
2. Click the 3 dots in the upper right corner, and click "New Incognito Window."
3. In the URL Search window, type classroom.google.com and press enter.
4. In the Google for Education window, with the Classroom logo in the middle, click Sign In.
5. Students need to put their MBUSD Google Apps username ([email protected]) and password. Their username and password are written in their agenda.
Safari Browser
To use the "incognito" form of Safari, go to File and click New Private Window. Follow the same procedure.
iPad
Students will be finishing or revising a number of writing assignments on Google Classroom at home. The iPad screen keyboard is not easy to use for most students. Adding a plug-in or blue-tooth keyboard is ideal.
1. Go to the App Store and download the free Google Classroom app.
2. Students open the app and enter their user name and password (in their agenda).
